Whatsapp new version - WhatsApp is conducting a series of trials on potential new features that users will use. Features ranging from dark models to fingerprint sensors.

Both of these features will be released to the public in the next few months. But if you are impatient waiting for the official release, users can try this feature in beta. Here's how:

Fingerprint sensor

1. Make sure the phone you are using is Marshmallow or higher.
2. Update WhatsApp to beta, Wahtsapp Beta 2.19.211 to use the fingerprint lock feature.
3. Go to Settings -> Account -> Privacy -> Fingerprint Lock
4. If you don't find the fingerprint lock feature, it's a good idea to backup your data, then uninstall and install WhatsApp again.
5. Keep in mind, the fingerprint lock feature is only to open WhatsApp that is locked.

Dark Mode

1. Enter the Settings menu -> Display -> Select Theme -> Dark. This is the default dark theme that Google added to Android Q.
2. If the dark theme has been activated, then you need to activate the developer options to give permission. How, back to Settings -> About Phone.
3. Then, scroll down until you find 'Build Number'. Tap several times until the 'Developer Options is turned on' message appears. The developer option marker is activated.
4. After Developer Options are active, look for 'Override force-dark' then click. This ensures that you can use the dark theme in WhatsApp.
5. The steps above will activate the dark theme for WhatsApp on Android Q. To get the full dark mode experience, make sure you use a dark dark wallpaper as a WhatsApp background.

In addition, in the latest beta version of Whatsapp Beta 2.19.222, WhatsApp will block underage users. In Europe, WhatsApp users must be 16 years or older. For other countries the minimum age is 13 years.
