After hosting a beta for the feature back in January 2021, Epic Games has brought back the Raise a Friend show, which is designed to get people back to Fortnite by giving them rewards for inviting old friends. Although it is a little different than before.
Although Fortnite is still a huge title, it can be said that its popularity has dropped a bit since it was on top of the world. To remedy this problem, Epic Games has introduced a system designed to bring former players who have left the game back to battle royale.
Called the "Raise a Friend" program, this feature allows current players to invite former teammates to come back and get free skins in Fortnite. Here's how you can invite some old friends back, who is eligible, and what rewards you can get.
How does the Raise Friend program work?
Luckily, the system is relatively straightforward and works in a similar way to how it did previously: Players who have friends who have not been active for 30 days can invite those friends to rejoin. By doing so, that person will receive rewards.
What's different this time around is that you no longer NEED friends who haven't been active for 30 days to participate. Instead, if you don't have anyone who meets that criteria, now you can simply invite new players and continue to receive some rewards.
Still, there are a few simple steps you should follow:
- Go to the Raise a Friend website.
- Access your Epic Games account associated with your Fortnite data.
- Scroll down to the "Raise a Friend" section and choose from the list of names presented to you.
- Click "Resurrect" next to the name of the eligible player.
- Confirm your selection.
However, you will not only receive the rewards after sending that invitation: you will have to play a few games with that player if you want everything that the program offers you.
Free Fewards With Raise a Friend in Fortnite
Both the way to obtain the rewards and the rewards themselves are also different this time. First, instead of being based on the number of games you play, the feature now uses a point system. Players who reset a friend will receive 100 points and then 10 points for each game they play with him.
- 100 points: Spray resurrects a friend.
- 200 points: Heartbeat wrap.
- 300 points: Hang glider with toxic flashes.
- 400 points: Plasma carrot pick.
The rewards themselves have also changed. Now, fans will have some more interesting cosmetics compared to last time, with the inclusion of some new pickaxes, a hang glider, and more.
